At the Adelaide Royal Show 2006 Australian Farmers Fuel (SAFF) convened a facility in The "Grains" Pavilion and SHOWCASED a 2004 BA Falcon sedan that ran on a blend of 85% Ethanol (Fuel Alcohol) and 15% Unleaded Petrol for the minor modification cost of A$260 courtesy of the Manildra Group.

Presently Ethanol is "capped" at 10% maximum in Petrol in this country. Australia is the only continent on the globe that caps ethanol to 10%.

IF this fuel (E85) could be retailed today in Australia the petrol pump prices would be MARGINALLY higher that LPG WITHOUT the $3,000 > $4,000 conversion cost to run on LPG! Just a nominal change to the "engine management" in late model vehicles and a "retrofit" to older vehicles at a marginally higher cost than late model vehicles

Ethanol comes from FARM BASED products, namely grains
(wheat/ barley), grapes and even potatoes!

Australia is a VERY small consumer compared to global volumes of Fossil fuels and becoming more dependant on imports (2020 forecast 70% of our fossil fuel needs will be imported) to maintain our transport and industry. It makes logical sense to to stimulate our "home grown environmentally friendly" fuels usage to create enough demand to encourage investments in distilleries to allow the production of Ethanol for Industry and transport usage I hope
you would agree?

I ask for your support by signing the "web petition" (just click on the below) further supporting the 6,000 plus signatures we gained at the Adelaide Royal Show and perhaps forwarding to other people that may wish to support this initiative.

Our Goal is 100,000 signatures which equates to 1/2% of the Australian Population!

 I thank you in advance.
